As Father's Day fast approaches, we’ve crunched the numbers and revealed some seriously juicy tidbits about how Aussies celebrated their dads in style on Father's Day 2022. So, whether you're a proud papa, or just someone who enjoys some heartwarming data – buckle up for the scoop!

DADS, DOLLARS, AND DELICIOUSNESS

Hold onto your hats, because when it came to treating Dad on Father's Day, Aussies went all out. The numbers don't lie – the average spending per order skyrocketed by a whopping 28% compared to the previous four Sundays. And guess what? This generosity translated into an awesome 83% boost in venue revenue nationwide on Father’s Day. That's right, folks, the celebratory spirit was strong!

CAPITAL CHEERS, ACT TAKES THE CROWN

Drumroll, please! Canberra, the heart of the nation, stole the spotlight as the capital champion of Father's Day splurging. The Australian Capital Territory (ACT) proudly flaunted an 83% increase in venue revenue, making it the clear winner in the "favourite Child" competition. But don't worry, other states pulled out all the stops too – Victorians snatched second place with a 49% increase, Queenslanders made their dads proud with a 39% boost, and New South Wales rounded it off with a respectable 17% surge.

FEASTS FIT FOR HEROES

We all know the way to Dad's heart is through his stomach, and the data agrees! When it came to choosing pub grub, Aussies had their priorities straight. The most-ordered dishes? Drumroll again – the Chicken Parmy (or Parma, as we affectionately call it), Chicken Schnitty, and the mouthwatering Southern Fried Chicken Burger. It seems like the old saying "winner, winner, chicken dinner" truly applies here.

TOASTING WITH CHEERS AND COCKTAILS

What's a celebration without a toast or two? The drink choices were as diverse as they were exciting. Beer, a perennial favourite, saw a cheerful 6% rise in sales. And when it came to cocktails, they weren't lagging behind either – a spirited 7% uptick in sales. Espresso Martini, Margarita, and Mojito led the cocktail parade, proving that dads across the nation are quite the refined taste connoisseurs.

ALL IN THE FAMILY FUN

Beyond the food and drinks, it's heartwarming to note that families were all about creating cherished memories. The average item ordered per table jumped a whopping 3.5 times more than the previous four Sundays. It seems like Dad was treated like the king he truly is, with loved ones spending quality time together and spoiling him silly.

So, there you have it – a heartening snapshot of how Australia embraced Father's Day with open arms and hearty appetites in 2022. Looking for inspiration on where to take Dad this year? Check out 10 of the best Beer Gardens in Sydney’s Inner West.
