Rave reviews: 98% positive feedback at Truck Yard
Discover how the concept of at-table ordering is changing the way bars, brewpubs, and restaurants operate in the US.
Headed up by Concept Creator & Culture Crusader Jason Boso, Truck Yard is a massive bar garden filled with live music, food trucks, booze, and good vibes.
With an open backyard, Truck Yard welcomes everyone from far and wide from family, friends to college friends and all the pups. Truck Yard was built with a love of honky-tonks, dance halls, and Texas beer gardens in mind where everyone could find something they love and enjoy.
The size of Truck yard meant that guests were having to walk to crowded bars and manage the congestion of the venue while trying to enjoy a drink.
With only 12-14 outlets to accommodate the crowds that Truck Yard brings in, they were looking for a way to streamline the ordering and payment process, slash wait times in lines, and keep guests in-venue for another round.
"me&u has been one of the easiest roll outs I’ve ever done as an operator and I’ve been doing this for a long time. The reason for that is they took ownership in the company. They had a support team from Day 1 that knocked it out of the park, from the onboarding of items, to the integration of POS, they took all of that on, to staff training, to being onsite, and even instructing our guests on the process."
Transitioning to the smarter way to order & pay
With such a large site, managing long lines at the bar proved to be overwhelming for Truck Yard staff. With up to 3,000 guests visiting at one time and only 12-14 outlets, customers were waiting for extended periods of time to order their drinks, meaning they were missing out on valuable time with friends and family.
By putting me&u on their tables, dedicating a portion of their bar to me&u orders and implementing drink runners, Truck Yard staff are able to get customers their drinks in three minutes or less. Eliminating the wait at the bar also means that guests can order and pay for their drinks from the comfort of their table and spend that time with their loved ones.
All hands on deck
As the concept of order & pay technology is so new, me&u was onsite every step of the way with the Truck Yard team to provide staff training, and integrate seamlessly with their point-of-sale systems.
With tailored, 24/7 support from their dedicated Project Lead whilst they were onboarding, they were then paired with an Account Manager to help them with any other questions or concerns they had during their day-to-day operations.
Not to mention, with the weekly reporting they receive and data insights from the me&u platform, the Truck Yard team are able to continually improve and adapt to changes with the help of me&u (and increase their bottom line while we’re at it).
Lower wait times + happy customers = increased tips
Reducing the number of people waiting at the bar meant guests were able to order from their table and spend that time with their friends and family (and furry friends too).
By giving guests the ability to hang out at their table, chat with their friends, and not stand in long lines to order their drinks has meant that these customers are staying longer and ordering more. With me&u’s Featured Products, Truck Yard was able to influence customer dining decisions by promoting any specials of the month at the top of their menu in prime position, and prompt easy reordering of drinks with Another Round, resulting in an increase of 18% in revenue.
Smarter features to keep customers in-venue
With me&u’s intuitive features, Truck Yard has been able to interact with customers in a whole new way - through the me&u platform.
99% of Truck Yard’s customers would order through me&u rather than going to the bar, meaning that guests are able to spend more time creating memorable experiences with staff and loved ones all from the comfort of their own table. The staff at Truck Yard are feeling the love too, with an increase of 5% in tips above average coming through me&u.
