Truck Yard Gets Fluid Service with me&u Order & Pay

We sat down with the team at Truck Yard, a high-volume venue hosting up to 2,500 guests simultaneously, to hear how me&u's Order & Pay solution transformed their operations and customer experience.

Facing the Challenges of High Volume

Truck Yard isn't your typical hospitality venue. With a name derived from the food trucks that pull into their garden to supply culinary options while Truck Yard handles beverages and atmosphere, the concept has created a unique social destination.

"We invite everyone from puppies to your grandmother, college friends, college kids, and your out-of-town uncle," explains Jason, the Culture Crusader at Truck Yard.

But this popularity created significant operational challenges:

"Our largest challenges prior to me&u was the long lines at the bar. We can have 2,500 people in our place at one time. And with only 12 to 14 outlets, it created long lines when people needed drinks."

The me&u Difference

"Customer can take their phone, tap directly on the beacon or scan the QR code, sends it to our point of sale system. They tap, order, pay, we deliver it to them. It's made ordering so much easier in our establishment."

The implementation was surprisingly straightforward, requiring only minor operational adjustments:

"The concept of order and pay at the table just made a simple operational shift. It wasn't difficult at all. What we did is we took part of our bar, used that portion of the bar for the order at the pay table. We did have to implement drink runners, which we did not have before. But with the additional revenue that we've created, it's offset that cost and made it super easy."

"From day one, when we brought me&u on as partners, they've had a fantastic support group. From staff training, to setup, to building the menus, to weekly reporting, they've been here for us. From the get-go, we thought of me&u as a partner in our business versus just another vendor."

"I expected nothing, I got everything. me&u has been one of the easiest rollouts I've ever done as an operator, and I've been doing this for a long time. The reason for that is they took ownership in the company. They had a support team from day one that knocked it out of the park from the onboarding of items to the integration of POS."

"Smarter operation features include two that I can think of off the top of my head. The featured product section is a way for us to feature specials of the month, anything that we want to push onto the customers. It's the first thing that the guest sees. The other product that is fantastic is as soon as that guest taps and they've ordered previously, they have a reorder feature. The reorder feature comes up, they can hit reorder, send, pay. We'll get the drinks out to them in three minutes."

"As an operator, what do I love about me&u? Increased revenue. We've seen almost 18% increase in revenue from the me&u platform. What does the staff love about me&u? Simple, more tips. The staff is seeing 5% increase in tips from the me&u platform."
