How innovative hospitality group New World is achieving exceptional results by partnering with me&u

With me&u, New World increases Average Transaction Value

UNITED KINGDOM – November 29, 2022

Global hospitality technology scale-up me&u, a leader of at-table ordering, announces its partnership with pioneering UK hospitality operator New World Trading Company (New World). Driving the technology evolution, me&u has been able to transform at table ordering across New World’s venues, boosting revenue by enabling customers to order and pay right from their table.

“me&u offers market leading innovations and product features whilst retaining simplicity and ease-of-use for both our customers and our teams,” says Jon Townsend, Strategic Planning Manager at New World. “The onboarding process with me&u was second to none in terms of training and efficiency and the on-site support from its team before, during and following the launch has been exceptional."

Since the launch of me&u across New World’s estate, the UK-based operator has been able to provide faster high-quality service to its customers in its unique bars and restaurants including The Botanist, The Canal House, The Club House, The Furnace and The Oast House. The new partnership has seen exponential growth for New World’s venues with a significant increase in Average Transaction Value on food sales vs server handheld ordering.

"We’ve worked with several order-and-pay providers over the years, both pre and post COVID-19. What attracted me to me&u was the way they approached the service; hospitality operations first, tech second, meaning exceptional customer service remains at the heart of our business.

“The technical aspects of the product go beyond what we originally thought possible when starting this project. The UX and customer journey feel familiar to customers and naturally encourage a higher spend and usage rate,” added Townsend.

me&u’s Country Manager James Winstanley said, “We are thrilled to enter into this long-term partnership with New World, a leading national hospitality group in the UK who are pioneering innovative experiences for guests. me&u has been able to drive forward their mission through operations, service and tech support as we provide them with the tools to accelerate their success.”

The easy-to-use interface has also created a great increase for staff tips within the business, a clear result of freeing up more time for staff to focus on what they do best – providing exceptional service and facilitating memorable experiences for guests.

British pub-goers are evidently loving the web-based platform, with a positive customer review rate of 94.21%. Combining technology and great human hospitality services, operators can unlock a whole new connection between their venues and guests to create outstanding customer experiences.
